Today, Sergey Kulikov, Chairman of the Executive Board of RUSNANO Management Company LLC, visited VBLHEP.
Director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research G. Trubnikov and Director of VBLHEP V. Kekelidze presented the main facilities of the accelerator complex of superconducting rings on colliding beams of heavy ions NICA to the guest and told about the scientific issues being solved and the programme of applied innovative research. The guest was shown the Booster and the high-technology line for the production of superconducting magnets for the NICA and FAIR colliders. Among various joint projects, in particular, the participation of RUSNANO in the development of an electric power converter for an inductive energy storage unit based on a magnet with a high-temperature superconductor winding has been discussed.
